Safety in action
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health East Lancashire Committee is a local group of health and safety professionals who come together to share knowledge, discuss industry issues, and support ongoing professional development. The committee organises regular events, talks, and site visits, helping members stay up to date with best practice while building strong connections across the East Lancashire region.
Our dedication to your well-being
Interesting day at work - I was involved with the health and safety aspect of the relocation of bee colonies from Towneley Hall Burnley, a grade 1 listed building. Very professional work from Pendle Environmental Services Ltd. The staff on site from Pendle Environmental Services Ltd were both experienced Bee keepers and will be relocating the colonies in their new homes as soon as possible. The job itself was not straight forward because being a grade 1 listed building meant that any work carried out needed to be carried out with the knowledge and approval of the Planning authorities. Live bee removal is a humane and environmentally friendly approach to dealing with honey bee colonies that have taken up residence in unwanted locations. Let’s wish the bees all the best in their new homes.

An interactive Health and Safety event was hosted by the East Lancs IOSH Community , this was organised by Forbes Solicitors and was based around a fatality at work and took us through the litigation process all the way through to the sentencing procedures and verdict.
